There's an Urban Legend: I've heard this a few times and in different places from different people...
During the '67 riots it was Russell Smith who lead a group to the IL25 &
Tollway junction to help turn away a group from the city bent on trouble.
Having known Russell since little league days, I'm certain there's truth to the story.
